Art has always been a part of my life, with glass becoming my specialty, passion and livelihood over the last 12 years.
It has taken me from my childhood in the small town of Warrnambool, Australia, with its seemingly endless expanses of ocean and farming land, to the concrete, crowded streets of Melbourne, where I completed my fine arts degree with a major in Glass.
My scholarship, with Australian glass and ceramics institution, JamFactory, took me from one Australian city to another. The studio itself, is located in Adelaide, the city of churches, Coopers beer and hedge fences.
It wasn’t long before the Czech Republic, a county famous for glass prowess – both in technique and design – drew me, with its rich culture, incredible architecture and beautiful people. I landed in Prague in 2009 to complete my Masters in Glass.
I've learned a great deal; I've taught, worked and exhibited consistently while living in Prague. It has been a happy, challenging existence. Each experience has fed into and influenced my work, and shaped me into a more refined, passionate and enthusiastic artist.
Various international trips to exhibit, view and practice have also contributed to my evolving art practice, and additionally helped me stay in front of techniques and trends around the world. After a highly successful summer spent working in South Africa, I established myself in the glass making heartland of Northern Bohemia where I combined my global inspirations with some of the world's leading glass art techniques.
After a small move south, I worked in the incredible world-class studio Cesty skla in Sázava. Located in the stunning František Glassworks, I helped bring the skills and traditions of Czech glass to a new generation of artists while building on my global experience to take glass in brave new directions.
In 2019 I returned to Prague, as master glassblower at Pragl, the first hot glass studio within the City of Prague in over 25 years. Located in the in the heart of Prague I help make the beauty of glass art accessible to the world.
